What Chase's own holiday PDF lists
Chase publishes a multi-year holiday schedule for U.S. offices. The table names New Year's Day; Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.; Washington's Birthday/Presidents Day; Memorial Day; Juneteenth; Independence Day; Labor Day; Columbus Day; Veterans Day; Thanksgiving Day; and Christmas Day. Good Friday does not appear.
Columbus Day what's open quotes the Chase Connect holiday PDF.
The same PDF notes special handling on Columbus Day (branches open; some online transaction rules treated as a holiday) and explains Fed-closure effects. None of that language is attached to Good Friday. For planning a branch visit, that omission is the signal: Chase is not marking Good Friday as a standard closure day on this schedule.
Federal holidays do not include Good Friday
5 U.S.C. §6103(a)'s legal public holiday list runs from New Year's Day through Christmas and does not include Good Friday or Easter. OPM's holiday fact sheet mirrors that federal list. A bank can still choose to close, but it is not closing because federal statute required it.
| Calendar | Good Friday status |
|---|---|
| 5 U.S.C. §6103 federal holidays | Not listed |
| Chase U.S. office holiday PDF | Not listed among closure days |
| Typical full-service Chase branch | Expect regular Friday hours unless that branch posts a local exception |
| U.S. stock exchanges | Separate market calendar (often closed); not the same as Chase branch hours |
2026 date and practical caveats
In 2026, Good Friday falls on April 3. Use the Chase branch locator or the door hours card for the specific location if you need a wire cutoff or safe-deposit appointment that Friday. ATMs and mobile deposit generally keep working on days when lobbies follow ordinary Friday staffing.
Other banks may differ. Always read that bank's holiday page rather than assuming the whole industry matches Chase.
